Plagiarism: Plagiarism is pretty dirty business.  Although I assume that all students are submitting original work, I do occasionally check student work at Internet plagiarism sites to which our department subscribes.  Our university policy, covered on page 44 of the current bulletin, tells us that the practice is unacceptable and subject to serious penalties.

Attendance:  Since summer school is "condensed" to five weeks of a normal fifteen-week semester, your regular attendance is critical to your successful performance in the course.  Passing this course requires much more than just writing papers that receive passing grades.  You are expected to be present to participate in student writing workshops, discussions, and a variety of class activities that all contribute to your achieving the goals of this course.  It is not up to your instructor to approve of your missing class or to provide you material missed while you are absent.  A decision to miss a class or classes is your personal choice and responsibility.  In this class you will not be allowed to make up missed class work, nor will the instructor approve of your absences--legitimate or otherwise.  The final exam will not be rescheduled for any reason.

Labs:  We will spend a portion of most class periods in a computer writing lab.  The lab is located in LA 1008 (north west hallway).  You are expected to come prepared to work while you are in the lab.  Handling your personal e-mail account, browsing off-topic on the Internet, and excessive "chatting" with class chums wastes valuable composing time.  Use your time wisely.
