Professor Rivers joined the faculty in 1968 after receiving his BA from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont and his MA from Southern Illinois University. In 1974 he received his doctorate at the University of Michigan. Currently he is a Professor of English and also serves as the Director of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program. His teaching areas are in the History of Rhetoric and Literary Criticism, as well as introductory courses in literature.
