Brianne DiBacco has joined USI after a number of years in the upper Ohio Valley teaching English at Jefferson Community College as well as Point Park University.  She has been involved in many levels of teaching from being a student tutor in Writing Centers to teaching at universities.  Ms. DiBacco received her undergraduate degree from LaRoche College in Pittsburgh, PA in English: Language and Literature and a Master's Degree in Literature as well as a Graduate Certificate in Teaching of Writing from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH.

Ms. DiBacco's scholarly interests include: the success of first generation college students, working-class studies, the influence of higher education on working-class populations, the Beat generation's influence on music and literature and how the Viet Nam war changed ideas of social acceptability. 

Outside of academic life, Ms. DiBacco  travels as much as possible and is invovled with a number of motorcycle rights and education organizations.
