The English Department at the University of Southern Indiana invites undergraduate scholars and writers, English majors and minors, to submit proposals for the English Department undergraduate research conference Revision 2 to take place on Thursday, February 12, 2013.

We read, we interpret, we reflect, we write, and we revise. The cycle of creation, research, and analysis should not stop when the semester is over and the final paper submitted. The work that we did should not be forgotten but continued and celebrated. It should be revised and shared with others. Submit your revisions to the undergraduate research conference! We are looking for presentations on all aspects of English studies, literature, rhetoric, creative writing.

To be considered for the conference, please submit a 300-word proposal for a scholarly presentation or a piece of creative writing appropriate for a 15-minute presentation by December 5, 2012. Email proposals as an MS Word attachment to Dr. Oana Popescu-Sandu at opopescusa@usi.edu. In the subject line of your email, please indicate: Conference: [Title of Paper or Creative Piece].

To prepare:

• Attend the workshop on how to write conference proposals:
  Monday, November 12, 2011, 12-1 pm, in 2033 OC (led by Dr. Amy Montz).
• Submit proposal by December 5, 2011.
• Attend workshop on presentation skills (TBA).
• Revise your paper and create your presentation.
• Present and attend other presentations on conference day!
