Assistant Professor of English

Jaclyn Wells is an Assistant Professor of English and Director of the River Bend Writing Project. She earned an M.A. from Southern Illinois University and Ph.D. from Purdue University. Her specialization is Rhetoric and Composition, with emphases in writing program administration and public rhetoric. Her B.A. is from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.

Dr. Wells currently teaches introductory composition courses and practica for new writing tutors.  Her research interests include community engagement and writing program administration. She is particularly interested in the intersection of these two areas and specifically, how writing program administrators may help shape engagement at the programmatic level.
