Nu Upsilon Chapter

Nu Upsilon is a chapter of Alpha Mu Gamma, the National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society.

Among its goals, Alpha Mu Gamma seeks to recognize achievement in foreign language and to foster sympathetic understanding of other people through the medium of language. It is the sponsor of National Foreign Language Week in the United States.

During the spring semester, applications are invited for membership.

Requirements

You must be able to answer "Yes" to questions 1 and 2 and either 3, 4, or 5, below:

1. Have you completed or will you have completed by the end of the current term one full college academic year?
   
   
2. Do you have a Grad Point Average of "B" (3.0) or higher in all completed college level courses?
   
   
3. Have you received two consecutive grades of "A" in unrepeated college courses at the 200 level or above in French, German, or Spanish?
   
   
4. Have you received two consecutive grades of "A" in unrepeated college courses in Japanese or Latin?
   
   
5. If you are a native of a non-English speaking country, have you received two consecutive grades of "A" in unrepeated college English classes?

Associate Membership

Students who are unable to apply for initiation at this time but are interested and may be eligible in the future may apply for associate membership. Please see your professor for details.

Dues

Dues for Alpha Mu Gamma are $40, ($25 national and $15 local chapter dues).
