Professor Emeritus of FrenchLeslie Jean Roberts is a Professor of French at the University of Southern Indiana where she has taught the French language, literature and culture for twenty years. She has a Ph.D. and M.A. from Columbia University in New York City and a B.A. from Tufts University. She has also earned a Diploma in French Civilization from the University of Paris, the Sorbonne, where she studied for a year. Dr. Roberts has also taught Spanish after studying the Spanish language at Middlebury College in Vermont and at the University of Alicante in Spain. Dr. Roberts is very involved with music of all kinds. In the 1970’s, she wrote songs and performed them at coffee houses in several states. In the 1990’s, she gave concerts of French music. She has been part of a choir for sixteen years and sings with them every week. Her husband is from England where they spend their summers in a cottage in the East Anglia area of England. They have a son who recently graduated from college and is working as a web engineer in Chicago.
