Major-Spanish

30 semester hours (Implementation Date: Spring 2011)

Required courses: 21 hours

Elective courses: 9 hours  (6 hours must be taught in Spanish)

Elective courses: twelve hours selected from Spanish course offerings as directed by advisor from 300- and 400-level courses or equivalents.

NOTE: Spanish 101 and 102 cannot be applied toward a Spanish major or minor.


Minor-Spanish

18 semester hours (Implementation Date: Spring 2011)

Required courses: 


 Teacher Certification

NOTE: Please review the College of Liberal Arts Teacher Certification Policy.

Major-Spanish (teacher certification)

36 semester hours + 33-39 hours of Professional Education courses
(Implementation Date: Spring 2011)

Required courses: 21 hours 

Elective courses: 15 hours

Education requirements: Teaching of Modern Foreign Languages in Secondary Schools, 2 hrs.

Elective courses: thirteen hours selected from Spanish course offerings as directed by advisor.

Minor-Spanish (teacher certification)

24 semester hours (Implementation Date: Spring 2011)
Student must be in a teaching major program to earn a teaching minor.

Required courses: 21 hours 

Elective course: 3 hours
