GENNARO PALLADINO/WILLIAM ASSANTE SCHOLARSHIP
- Awarded (on Honors Day, March 2007) to a junior psychology major with a 3.5 GPA, to be used during the senior year. This is a $1,000 scholarship.
- Applicant must write an essay of 500 words or less discussing how the coursework in Psychology has prepared him/her for a career or graduate school. Submit the essay to Dr. Palladino by December 4, 2006.

KARA FULKERSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP        
- Awarded (on Honors Day, March 2007) to Psychology major entering their senior year with an overall GPA of 3.0 who has overcome a significant disability or disorder. This is a $1,000 scholarship.
- Applicant must submit a letter detailing how he/she meets the criteria. Submit the letter to Dr. Palladino by December 4, 2006.

MAUPRC 2007 - will be at Eastern Illinois University on April 14.  Keep the date open and start thinking about a project to present!


Check out Best Buddies.  The USI chapter is underway!  Let me know if you're interested.  This is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.  Meet/email regularly.  We ask that you plan on being involved for one year.

Ten week exhibit entitled Girl Culture at the Evansville Museum: September 24 through December 3, 2006:  The subject of American girls, their social lives and rituals, their attention to body image, fashion and the complex hierarchies within their groups is the focus of an internationally touring exhibition of photographs by Lauren Greenfield.

2005 - The University of Southern Indiana will mark the 40th anniversary of its founding on September 15, the date in 1965 when 412 students enrolled at the old Centennial School.  Through various activities this calendar year, the University will be celebrating the growth and development of the University.

    How to spot an email hoax: I know you mean well when you forward these sob story emails, BUT
    "Here's a rule of thumb to follow: ANY chain letter claiming that a corporation or charitable organization will donate money to a cause based on how many times the message is forwarded is bogus. Forwarding such messages is complete waste of time and bandwidth."

    At least 40,000 Americans become newly infected with HIV each year.
    An estimated one-half of all people with HIV in the U.S. have not been tested and do not know they are carrying the virus.
    Some people do not show symptoms for ten to twelve years.
    If you have had unprotected sex with ANYONE - please consider being tested.  While we don't want you to have HIV, we don't want you to spread it either.  Please, be responsible.  Not afraid to hear some more facts - click here.
