We discussed trips, fundraisers (bake sale, gift wrapping at Christmas,
and the mock GRE), and t-shirts. Other meeting dates: 10/3, 10/17,
10/31, and 11/14. Annual How to get into graduate school in psychology talk - Friday, October 10, 2PM in LA 1003. Our Mock GRE exam went great! We'll do it again February 2009. IDEAS: --last year we went to the Kinsey
Institute. This year folks were interested in a tour of where we
do autopsies in town, the prison, and the Institute for Autism. Mike Domitrz: Can I Kiss You? Monday, September 29, 2008, 7:00 p.m. in Carter Hall Mike Domitrz, critically-acclaimed author and executive director of the "The Date Safe Project," will discuss dating, intimacy, communication, respect, safety, and sexual assault awareness. He is a student favorite! Wednesdays 10/1, 10/8, 10/15 3:00-6:00 p.m. or Thursdays 11/6, 11/13, 11/20 3:00- 6:00 p.m. This program educates women about awareness, prevention, risk education, and avoidance. RAD classes are designed to teach students and employees basic self-defense techniques and to improve coordination. Additionally, RAD classes help participants develop self confidence and discipline, and increase physical and mental capabilities. RAD is taught by certified instructors and provides participants with a workbook/reference manual. Call 461-5268 to sign up.
All are welcome in the psychology club - you only need to have an interest in psychology. If you want to officially join, show up at a meeting or email us at usipsychclub@yahoo.com You are expected to pay a one time $10 fee and attend one event/meeting. |
