Importance of knowing how to spell/grammar...

Okay, so you say what difference does it make if you can't spell?  What difference does it make if you use improper grammar??  Well, the simple answer is that if you want an advanced degree, you had better be able to write coherent sentences.  In any job, you need to be able to communicate effectively!  Check out the links below for some fun examples.  And for a reminder of how many of us choose to approach a writing assignment, not how we should, check out "How to Write a Paper."

My New Spell Checker

Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue 
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say 
Weather eye am wrong oar write 
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rare lea ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it 
I am shore your pleased two no 
Its letter perfect awl the weigh 
My chequer tolled me sew.
