The USI Psychology Department is comprised of dedicated teachers whose scholarly works have been published in numerous publications and presented in conferences across the United States and Canada. Some Historical Achievements
- In 1982 the Psychology Department founded the Mid-America Undergraduate Psychology Research Conference, which is “one of the oldest and most successful conferences of its kind in the United States.” The conference, now in its 27th year, is organized by a consortium of colleges and universities, including the University of Southern Indiana.
- The Psychology Department founded the Mid-America Conference for Teachers of Psychology in 1984. The founding of this conference led to what has been called a “Golden Age of Regional Teaching Conferences” as other institutions followed the model established at USI.
