Criminal Justice Learning Outcomes


Learning Outcome #1

Students will be critical and creative thinkers who can communicate effectively in oral and written form.

Learning Outcome #2

Students will develop theoretical understanding of crime and criminal justice systems and will be                                              able to apply such theories to daily experience.

Learning Outcome #3

Students will gain an understanding of social problems, human diversity issues, social behavior, and                                      social policy related to criminal justice.  
Learning Outcome #4

Students will have a comprehensive knowledge of all four basic areas of the field: 

  • Criminology
  • Policing
  • Courts and Law
  • Correction

Learning Outcome #5

Students will have an understanding of the research process and data analysis techniques appropriate                                      to undergraduates and the field of criminal justice.

Learning Outcome #6

Students will employ ethical perspectives and judgments in applying criminal justice knowledge.
