English students in the classroom


Numerous internship opportunities for English majors are available through USI Career Services and Internships. Internships that call for writing and communication skills or an interest in law are particularly suited to English majors.

English majors may receive academic credit for internships by enrolling in ENG 498: Internship in English.

International Professional Internship Programs in Warsaw, Poland

Interested students can apply for professional, English-language internships in Warsaw, Poland that are offered year-round. The programs include 25 to 35 hours of internship per week and, if requested, students can also register for credited seminars and Polish language courses offered at Collegium Civitas.

This program offers a unique opportunity for interested students to undertake full-time professional internships in various for-profit, public and non-profit organizations in Warsaw, Poland that focus on areas such as:

  • Civil society and local community development
  • Civic and political education
  • Human rights, migration, refugees
  • European integration, international politics, diplomacy
  • Arts, history and culture
  • Legal and constitutional affairs
  • Media, media advertising, journalism
  • Public health
  • Jewish history, arts, music and culture
  • Economics, business, finance
  • Transparency in public administration, anti-corruption policies
  • Environment
  • Theater education

Students can apply for minimum 4-week and up to semester-long internships during the spring or fall semester, the summer or winter break.

While undertaking internships the students can also register for specialized undergraduate or graduate seminars (taught in English) at Collegium Civitas and earn the equivalent of up to 16 American credits per semester. Polish language courses are also available.

Graduate and undergraduate students can apply. The Poland internship programs have a rolling admission, and interested applicants are invited to submit their applications to the program anytime until specified deadlines.
