Departmental Learning Outcomes

The Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree program in social sciences is designed for students who anticipate the need for only two years of college education.  It reflects the training received in the first two years of a regular four-year program, and a student may, if he or she desires, continue on to a baccalaureate degree.

Degree Requirements and Student Learning Outcomes

  • Degree requirements (Core Curriculum): The Social Science Associate Degree requires that students take 35 credit hours of University Core Curriculum courses.
Learning Outcome (Core Curriculum)

Students who successfully complete these courses will show competence in the foundational skills of a                                       university curriculum: effective writing and oral communication, basic mathematical literacy, and skills                                           in critical thinking and analysis.
