Theatre Program Student Outcomes


Learning Outcome #1 Students will demonstrate an ability to apply past and current trends to the art and craft of theatre.
Learning Outcome #2 Students will demonstrate an awareness of historical contexts as they apply to theatrical expression.
Learning Outcome #3 Students will demonstrate understanding of the balance between intellectual and practical processes                                                  in the theatre through academic achievement and research with a creative application.
Learning Outcome #4 Students will develop skills in critical thinking and communication that reflect the level of achievement                                                 to be expected of any graduate of the University.
Learning Outcome #5 Students will demonstrate through their work both inside and outside the classroom their understanding                                         that Theater requires component powers of critical thinking, organization, self-discipline, collaboration,                                           and interpersonal sensitivity.  
Learning Outcome #6 Students will show an ability to impart a degree of their training to others so that it may have                                                       application to future communities which the student may serve.  
Learning Outcome #7 Students will demonstrate the ability to apply professional practices within their areas of theatre expertise.  
Learning Outcome #8 Students will understand the ethical responsibility of the theatre practitioner where theatre is a                                                       foundational part of the social context.
