  • Faculty to select
Criteria: U.S. citizens classified as full-time students majoring in Spanish at USI, with a preference given to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in Spanish literary analysis and/or Spanish composition. Recipients must be in good academic standing and maintain 3.0 GPA when the scholarship is awarded and received. Not renewable.

Criteria: French academic award. Recipient selected by the Association of French Students. Not renewable, but may be awarded a second time if the recipient meets the criteria. Criteria: Award to a sophomore with financial need to be used during their junior year and who is planning to teach a foreign language. Automatically renewable for senior year with 3.0 GPA. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the upcoming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Student Financial Assistance must validate need.
Donald S. Wolfe Foreign Language Scholarship Award

Criteria: The graduating senior demonstrating excellence in English, French, Spanish, history, anthropology or the fine and performing arts. Selection to be made by representatives of each above-named academic area, preferably the department chairs, with the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts as chair. Not renewable. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.

Criteria: For Spanish education students who plan to study abroad. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the upcoming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Must be used to study abroad, so not renewable. Possible re-award if student is going abroad again.
Phillip & Agnes Tzschoppe German Scholarship

Criteria: Award to a top sophomore or junior German or German teaching major with the minimum 3.4 GPA and supports the promotion of German culture in the region. May be used for tuition, fees, books or study abroad. Not renewable. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.

Criteria: Awarded each year to an incoming freshman planning to major in art, English, history, philosophy, theatre, or world language with minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need. See current brochure. Automatically renewable if recipient still meets criteria. Selected by Society for Arts & Humanities. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Recipient must be enrolled during the upcoming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Student Financial Assistance must validate need.
