Mission Statement

The mission of Rice Library's Reference and Instructional Services is to link users with information resources, and to develop collections and services in support of the University's current and future needs in instruction, research, and outreach.

 

To accomplish this mission, our goals are to:

► select, manage and provide access to print and electronic reference resources in support of the university's academic programs

► provide professional reference service to university-affiliated users regardless of their location on or off-campus

► provide instruction programs enabling users to become skilled in identifying information needs, and locating, evaluating, and using that information effectively

► engage in liaison activities and form partnerships with faculty and other university units and personnel in pursuit of common goals
