Rice Library Image Collection
This is a collection of images and documents of Evansville and the surrounding tri-state area from the 1800s to the present day. Some of the featured collections include the Flood of 1937, Don Blair and Thomas Mueller photographs, Southern Indiana Electric & Gas Company, and the African-American community in Evansville. This Collection is being continually expanded with new images preserving the history of the region.
Communal Studies Image Collection
Communal Studies is a specialty collection of the David L. Rice Library's University Archives and Special Collections. The Communal Studies Image Collection is primarily made up of images of intentional communities from the United States. Donald Janzen, an archaeologist and anthropologist has been studying communities for over forty years and has photographed over 200 unique communal organizations. His collection includes such communities as the Shakers, The Farm, Zoar, Bethel Colonies and the Harmonists.
