FIRSTSEARCH
FirstSearch
allows users to find books, articles, films, computer software, and
other types of material on the subject needed from a variety of databases
within the subject categories of Engineering, Biological Sciences,
Computers, Medicine, Business and more.
In order
to use this service, an account must be established. For details about
which FirstSearch databases and features are available to you, and
to establish an account, contact Phil Orr, Distance Learning Librarian
at porr@usi.edu or 812/461-5328.
Special
features include:
- Searching
using AND, OR, NOT Boolean and WITH, NEAR adjacency operators.
- Limiting
searches (For example, to a particular date or format).
- Browsing
a list of available search terms with the wordlist feature.
- Full-text
access to those databases indicating full-text capabilities.
To access

connect to the link and type in your assigned authorization and password.
