Annual Report Gallery - Link to online annual reports for over 2,000 companies. Also international annual reports for companies in Japan, the United Kingdom, Korea and South Africa.

Public Register Annual Reports Service - Order free hard copy annual reports for 3,600 companies or link to reports online. Search by company or industry. Also links to stock information and investment research.

Carol - Source for online annual reports and other financial information for companies in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Bureau van Dijk - Free directory permits retrieval of list of companies worldwide, including size and activity. Search by company name or by country/activity/size. Lists are sortable and can be exported in a variety of formats. Detailed company information requires subscription.

FDIC: Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation - Home page of the FDIC contains detailed information, including financials, for every FDIC-insured institution. Search by name of institution under "Individual Bank Data."

Fortune 500 - The current list, sortable by various criteria plus company "snapshots" for each, including 15 minute delay stock quotes, link to Hoover's company capsules (described below). Industry groups, CEO lists. Searchable.

Multex Investor - Information on over 12,000 publicly traded companies includes company snapshot, quotes, news, interactive price charts, highlights, earnings estimates, performance, ratio comparisons, insider trading, institutional ownership, selected financials. Real time quotes and broker research are also free but require a detailed registration process.

Trade statistics from the Office of Trade & Economic Analysis - United States export and import data through 1995, outlook tables 1995-2000, basic data for output, employment, etc.

VIBES: Virtual international business and economic sources - Provides access to full-text and statistical information on international business and economics.

 

Industry Information

Forbes Annual Report on American Industry - Go to the Search Engine area and type in "American Industry"

Industry Link - By clicking on a specific indutry you obtain an annotated bibliography of web sites by industry. The Resource sites are followed by a listing of commercial sites. The Resource sites are designed to provide "an abundance of information related to particular industries." The Commercial sites can be useful for identifying suppliers within an industry.

Michigan Electronic Library - Business, Economics and Labor Industries. This site includes links to business periodicals by industry, current U.S. industry reports, and index to manufacturing processes by SIC, industry and trade summaries, and much more.

NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) - NAICS replaces the U.S. Standard Industrial Classification System (SIC), a reference consulted by anyone using economic census or industry data.

Standard Industrial Classification Manual (SIC Codes) - The official U.S. Government Manual which provides SIC codes and the 2-digit and 4-digit levels.
