Or Sign up at the Music Information Table as you arrive for Orientation.

Auditions are held in the Hamilton Music Studio:

Liberal Arts Building 0112

Vocalists

·        You should bring one piece of any style to sing for your audition. If you don’t have a piece prepared, one will be provided for you to sing.

·        You may bring an accompaniment tape or you may sing  acapella.  Don’t worry, we are only listening for your voice, not the accompaniment.

·        Your sight-reading and music theory abilities will be checked so we know where you are with your music reading skills and where we need to take you through this year.

·          Letters of recommendation are always welcomed.

·        As soon as your audition is completed, you will be told which spot in your schedule you should hold open for the coming semester.  During your advising schedule you will then tell your advisor which groups you need to work your schedule around. You may be asked to hold open a time in your fall or spring semester schedule pending other auditions. Remember we are hearing hundreds of singers and are working to arrive at the best blend of voices.

Instrumentalists

You must own your own horn, guitar, bass, or drumsticks.

Amps are provided for guitar and bass auditions.

Drums are provided. Percussionists must supply their own sticks.

Auditions for Jazz Band will be held during the first week of each new semester.  If you are interested in auditioning, contact the director of music at the link below.  Then leave 11:00am - 11:50 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday open in your schedule.  Show up to the first class meeting in LA 0112 and you will play your audition at that time.
