The University of Southern Indiana chapter of Gamma Phi Beta will host Lip Sync at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 24 in Mitchell Auditorium, located in the Health Professions Center.

Lip Sync is a lip singing and performing competition for individuals and groups. Scores will be based on creativity and lip-singing abilities, and the winners will receive trophies. Acts should not exceed seven minutes and be PG-13, appropriate for all audiences. Judges are Kathi Goen, Kourtney Eastham, and third person yet to be announced.

Proceeds will benefit PAAWS (Proving Animals Are Worth Saving), a Gamma Phi Beta philanthropy group. PAAWS is a Tri-state not-for-profit no-kill animal organization which fosters animals in volunteer homes until adopted. Volunteers are not on payroll and don’t earn salaries. Over 540 total contract adoptions have been made through volunteer efforts in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.

Cost to attend is $5 or $3 with a dog or cat item from the PAAWS needs list. Lip sync performers will pay an additional $1 donation. There are no limits to the number of members for group performances.

Those interested in performing can sign up at an information table outside the University Center during the week of February 20-24 or email Alyshia McCormick at ammccormic1@mail.usi.edu.
