The Department of Continuing Education at the University of Southern Indiana will offer a noncredit course titled “We Cannot Escape History: Lincoln’s Indiana Years,” from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on two Mondays, February 20 and 27, at The Communities of Solarbron located at 1501-1701 McDowell Road in Evansville.

Less than a months before his death, Abraham Lincoln summed up his pre-presidential life by saying, “I was born in Kentucky, raised in Indiana, [and] reside in Illinois.” In this course, participants will learn about the 14 years Lincoln spent in Indiana. Those years, 1816-1830, will be examined in the context of American and Indiana history. William Bartelt, former USI adjunct instructor in history, will lead the course.

Course registration is $20.
