Guest speaker to address social justice and cultural diversity

The Center for Social Justice Education at the University of Southern Indiana will host guest speaker Lane Simpson, tribal representative from Montana’s Crow Nation, from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, October 18, in the Education Center, room 1101.

Simpson, human services professor at Little Big Horn College in Crow Agency, Montana, will speak on social justice and cultural diversity as it applies to Native Americans today.

Simpson developed and launched a Christian non-profit recovery program for those who wish to live healthier lives away from drugs, alcohol, poverty, abuse, and oppression. His goal is to use his skills and experience to benefit the economic development and education of the Apsaalooke People (Crow Tribe).

The event is free and open to the public. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.
