Public hearing on tuition and fees set for June 3

May 23, 2013

The University of Southern Indiana will conduct a public hearing at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013, to solicit public comment on proposed tuition and mandatory fees for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic years. The public hearing will take place in the University Center, Carter Hall D.

Under Indiana law, each state educational institution is required to set tuition and fees for a two-year period following the adoption of the state's biennial budget, and to hold a public hearing before the adoption of any proposed rate increases.

The University proposes that tuition for a full-time, in-state, undergraduate student be set at $6,418 in 2013-2014, an increase of approximately $273. In 2014-2015, tuition would be set at $6,696, an increase of approximately $278.

USI President Linda L. M. Bennett said the increases are expected to meet on-going operational expenses.
