National International Education Week is November 17-19, 2014, and the University of Southern Indiana has a full week of activities planned. International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate the benefits of education exchange, promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States. USI currently hosts more than 240 international students from 45 different countries.

Activities at USI include Global Engagement Forums, offering an opportunity to learn about the experiences of students who have previously participated in Global Engagement Internships and study abroad opportunities; study abroad information sessions; and a culture night. The week of activities will kick off with an international reception and fashion show in which students and faculty showcase fashions from around the world. Activities wrap up on Friday with an exciting Late Night @USI: Dance Around the World giving attendees a chance to watch and learn dances from around the world.

New this year is the passport program through which students attending events receive a stamp. Students accumulating three or more stamps will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a $500 airline gift card, as well as other prizes. All events are free and open to the USI community. However, only students are eligible to enter drawings for prizes.

A complete list of events, dates, times and locations appears below. For more information contact Nicole Vernon in International Programs and Services at nmvernon@usi.edu or 812-228-5092.
