Registration open for Run of Luck race

March 4, 2015

The Romain Subaru Screaming Eagles Running Series, a three-race series held on and around the University of Southern Indiana campus, continues Saturday, March 14, with the 15th annual Run of Luck 7K. About 1,000 people participate in this race, beginning on USI's campus, looping through onto Schuette road and finishing on the USI-Burdette Park Trail.

Registration for the Run of Luck 7K is $20 until March 7 and $25 until race day. Registration is available online or at the USI Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center the day of the event.

The top three male and female runners in each age group will be recognized in an awards ceremony following the race. Awards also will be given to best overall male and female and top challenged athlete in each division, as well as best leprechaun costume.

The Run of Luck 7K also includes a Wee Folk Dash for children up to age 12 and will be followed by a Funfest with free food, entertainment and music.

Proceeds from the event will go to the USI Sport Management scholarship fund, professional development opportunities and future event operations offered through the Department of Kinesiology and Sport.

The final race in the series, the Spring into Fitness 10K, will be Saturday, April 11.

The focus of the running series is to increase the health and well-being of the Evansville community, and provide hands-on experience for students in USI's Sports Management program, who organize the series.
