USI to host 25th annual Lighting a Tradition celebration

November 17, 2015

The University of Southern Indiana Student Alumni Association will host the 25th annual Lighting a Tradition celebration at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 23.

This holiday tradition joins students, family, friends and alumni in the holiday spirit as holiday lights are illuminated across the Quad. A cookie decorating contest will be held by the Student Board of Directors. Participants also will be able to take a selfie with Santa for a chance to win a Starbucks gift card.

Festivities will begin in front of Rice Library, followed by refreshments inside University Center East. The Student Alumni Association will be accepting new or gently used hats and scarves to be donated to a local shelter.

Following the lighting of the Quad, guests are invited to participate in an ugly sweater contest, followed by a viewing of the movie "It's a Wonderful Life," at 8:30 p.m. in Forum I in the Wright Administration Building.
