USI hires Rashad Smith as director of Undergraduate Admissions

The University of Southern Indiana has hired Rashad Smith as director of Undergraduate Admissions. Smith will begin on April 11, 2016.

As director of undergraduate admissions, he will lead the Undergraduate Admissions Office, including high school relations, transfer recruitment and services, the campus visit program and office operations. He also will be responsible for undergraduate admissions policy, supervision of applications processing and the residency policy.

"We are excited to welcome Rashad Smith, USI's new director of Undergraduate Admissions," said Andy Wright, vice president for enrollment management. "Rashad has 15 years of experience in admissions, including five years at the director level. He has a strong background in recruitment strategies, data analysis and using technology to improve the admission and recruitment process."

Prior to joining USI, Smith served as the director of institutional research and effectiveness, and as the director of admissions for Kentucky Wesleyan College.

"I am truly excited to begin working with the admissions staff and enrollment management leadership team to contribute to the University's success and institutional goals," said Smith. "It will be an honor to align with the University's vision for the future as we shape our student's lives through learning and innovation."

Smith holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina.
