Sickman tapped as USI controller and assistant treasurer

The University of Southern Indiana has promoted Jeff Sickman to controller and assistant treasurer. The new position took effect July 1. Sickman previously served as controller and assistant business office director, associate controller, assistant controller, manager of payment services and as staff accountant at USI.

"I am honored by the appointment," said Sickman. "USI has benefited from strong financial leadership since its inception. I am proud to be a part of that team and eager to do what I can to continue the tradition of excellence."

In this position, Sickman will provide financial recommendations and guidance to senior management, protect University assets, gather and report financial data, ensure conformance with accounting and legal requirements, and work with third-party financial institutions.

"Jeff has proven repeatedly that he is more than prepared for these new challenges," said Steve Bridges, USI vice president for finance and administration. "I thank him for his efforts during the transition, appreciate the support that the team has given Jeff during this period and look forward to working with him in this new capacity."

Sickman received a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1993 and a master's of business administration in 2000, both from USI.
