Brad Byrd to give presentation as part of MPA Speaker Series

The University of Southern Indiana Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program and the MPA Society will host a presentation by Brad Byrd, lead news anchor for Eyewitness News, at noon Monday, November 28 in Traditions Lounge in University Center East. Byrd's presentation, "Getting it Right…Getting it Wrong," is part of the MPA Speaker Series and is free and open to the public.

Byrd is a member of the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle Hall of Fame. He has received Emmy, Edward R. Murrow, Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalist awards for his broadcast journalism, and has covered stories in Europe, Washington, D.C., New York City and other locations throughout the United States.

In addition to his work with Eyewitness News, Byrd has written for the Evansville Courier and Press and Evansville Living magazine. He has received awards for his charity work from Easter Seals and from the American Heart Association. Byrd also has served as an instructor at USI and the University of Evansville. He received a bachelor's degree in communications from Ball State University.
