You have a say in the new USI Today

November 3, 2016

University Communications has been collecting feedback on how USI employees perceive our internal communication channels and what they want for the future. Working with The Office of Planning, Research and Assessment, we included survey questions on the Fall Faculty and Staff Survey. We've also worked with a facilitator, Stephanie El Tawil, senior program assistant in Outreach and Engagement to conduct focus groups. Faculty, administrators and support staff were randomly selected and were able to provide anonymous input. We want all participants of both the survey and focus groups to know that we are listening and appreciate the time you've taken to give us constructive feedback.

Moving into 2017 we will set in place a new strategy for internal communication and your thoughts and ideas will make a difference. We will let you know how your input has driven our decisions. Internal communication is not just one person, but rather a system of people across campus working together to streamline communication in a productive way, ensuring information is consistent and timely. You shouldn't have to search a dozen pages to find what you're looking for. We want USI Today to be the source you can rely on.

We would like to conduct one more focus group and need volunteers. Support staff, faculty and administrators, make your voice heard. All USI employees who have not already participated in an internal communications focus group are welcome. If you would like to take part, contact Stephanie El Tawil at sjeltawil@usi.edu  or 812-461-5442, and let her know what days of the week and time of day typically work best for you.

We sincerely appreciate your participation.

Deadline for volunteers is November 23.
