47th Annual University of Southern Indiana Juried Student Art Show Artworks Chosen

The 47th Annual University of Southern Indiana Juried Student Art Show will be on display April 2 - 30 in the Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries, located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center on the USI campus.

Juror Arthur Fields has selected 172 artworks from over 400 entered to be exhibited. Fields is an artist and photographer based in Dallas and Vincennes, Indiana. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, and a bachelor's degree in Digital Imaging from Washington University in St. Louis. His current photographic work deals with self-image and technology relationships. Fields is a board member of several photographic arts organizations including Ticka Arts and the Texas Photographic Society. He is also an active member of the Society for Photographic Education, where he serves as Student Volunteer Coordinator of the National Conference. Arthur is an assistant professor of art and teaches photography and runs the Shircliff Gallery at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana.

A free public reception for the student artists at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2.  Over $7000 in merit awards, scholarships and USI Art Collection purchase awards will be announced at 3 p.m.

The Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries is gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public. Visit USI.edu/liberal-arts/art-center-galleries or call 812-228-5006 for more information.
