USI Today, official employee communication channel, moving to three days a week

August 18, 2017

USI Today is the official employee and retiree communication channel for the University, which includes a webpage and e-newsletter intended to keep the campus community up to date on recent happenings at the University and provide a forum to share information. The USI Today webpage will serve as a centralized location for information for faculty, staff and retirees.

Beginning next week you'll receive USI Today three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This will not only keep you informed, but will provide colleges and departments ample opportunity to promote events and share information and stories in a more timely manner. We encourage you to use USI Today rather than sending campus-wide blast emails. (A blast email is any email being delivered to multiple departments, colleges and groups.) Please note, USI Today does not go to students there is a list of other resources online to use for reaching students.

If you're not already reading USI Today on a regular basis, we encourage you to start, even if it's just a quick skim. Information is provided in easily digestible bites that will help you keep up with what's happening across campus. As we continue our work to reduce the number of blast emails across campus, USI Today has become the single source for timely information. If you're not reading, you may be missing out on important updates.

You're encouraged to submit story ideas, news, faculty and staff achievements, announcements and other information through the online submission form. You also can submit items for Marketplace, the classified ad section of USI Today.

Information or events should be submitted at least three to five days before the date you would like to see it published. Story ideas should be sent for consideration at least two weeks prior to the desired publication date.

For more information, or to discuss best ways to share information internally, contact Angie O'Nan at amonan@usi.edu or 812-465-7005.
