ScreaglePride Shout-out: Carol Schmitt

If you don't know Carol Schmitt, the guru behind the email system here at USI, then you've likely never had an email issue that required her special fix it powers. OK, ok, she may not actually have super powers, but if you have ever been on the receiving end of Carol fixing a super complicated email issue, then I'm certain you feel like Wonder Woman herself just swooped in to save the day! It's important to point out that Carol isn't just a whiz with email, although by the number of calls and tickets she receives each day, it's difficult to see how she finds time for anything else. Carol is here early in the morning and often stays well past quitting time, diligently working to make sure our faculty, staff, and students get the most robust and stable email system possible. 

She's also a great team cheerleader, heading up the office party planning committee, taking the lead on decorating our office during Homecoming competitions, making sure condolence cards are sent around, and - this piece is really important - the league commissioner for our Fantasy Football Team. More importantly than all of those things, Carol is quite simply, a great co-worker; someone who loves USI and who is committed to creating positive and valuable change as we continue to modernize our campus and our systems. Carol and her collection of eagles may be hidden in the basement of the Orr Center, but her positive spirit and unfailing willingness to help at any time, can be felt across campus.
