USI to host Greek Awards ceremony
|
The University of Southern Indiana Greek Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium at the Health Professions Center. Awards will be given in two categories: chapter recognition and individual recognition. The chapter recognition award titled “Overall Chapter Excellence Award” requires that chapters meet certain expectations within 10 different categories including values and identity, organizational management, scholarship, recruitment and retention, membership education, international/national relations, campus and community relations, alumni relations, community service, and financial management. Levels of achievement for this award include overall winner, gold chapter, silver chapter, and bronze chapter. These levels are determined based on the overall percentage points each chapter earns. Individual Greek award categories are outstanding new member, Greek unity, outstanding faculty advisor, outstanding chapter advisor, outstanding president, and Greek man/woman of the year. All awards are judged by a pre-selected committee of staff and faculty members on campus. Sandra Ziganti, program advisor for Greek Life and Leadership Development, said, “The purpose of the Greek Awards program is to recognize excellence within the community and to encourage both chapters and individual members to remember their values and founding principles.” For more information about the Greek Awards or Greek Life, contact Sandra Ziganti at 812/465-7167 or Lindsay Satterthwaite, News and Information Services, at 812/465-7005. |
