USI showcasing student RISC projects

DNA identification, antivirals, the comedy of Seinfeld, and fine art studies are a few of the topics to be explored at University of Southern Indiana’s 2003 Research, Innovation, Scholarship, and Creativity Showcase Saturday, April 26.

The RISC Showcase will begin at 9 a.m. with a keynote address by Jaron Lanier, an internationally recognized computer scientist, composer, visual artist, and virtual reality pioneer.

Lanier’s free public address, “What Every Scientist and Engineer Should Know about the Future of Personhood,” will be presented in Mitchell Auditorium in the Health Professions Center.

Student presentations will follow in the Liberal Arts Center. The presentation schedule (Title, student(s), time, room number) follows:

The showcase also will feature a variety of student poster presentations in the lobby of the Liberal Arts Center.

All RISC Showcase presentations are free and open to the public. Those attending are invited to purchase lunch in University Center and join showcase presenters for the meal at 12:15 p.m. in Carter Hall.
