USI retirement reception April 29

University of Southern Indiana will honor eight retiring employees with 164 years of combined service at a reception Tuesday, April 29. “These retirements will be felt across the University – so many people of long-standing employment who have played key roles in the development of the University, its curriculum, and its support and outreach services,” said USI President H. Ray Hoops. “Together this year’s retiree group has given an impressive 164 years of service to USI. We congratulate them and wish them well in retirement. We also encourage their continued involvement in the University.” The eight retiring employees include: · Dr. Philip Fisher, dean of the School of Business and professor of management, who joined the University in 1991 as dean of the School of Business and professor of management. He holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University. · Judy Fleck, administrative associate in Printing Services, who joined the University in 1988 as manager of the Historic New Harmony Museum Shop. · Augustine Jay Fredrich, associate dean of the Pott School of Science and Engineering and professor of engineering, who joined the University in 1979 as professor of civil engineering technology. He holds an M.S.C.E. from California State University-Sacramento. · Sandra Hermann, director of University Division and instructor in English, who joined the University in 1983 as a part-time instructor in English. She holds an M.A. from Washington University. · Dr. Kwangok Kim, professor of accounting, who joined the University in 1979 as assistant professor of business. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Oklahoma. · Dr. William Kirsch, associate professor of political science, who joined the University in 1970 as assistant professor of political science. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Illinois. · Sharon Morrow, instructor in English, who joined the University in 1988 as an instructor in English. She holds an M.A. from Purdue University. · Dr. Robert Reid, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, who joined the University in 1975 as vice president for Academic Affairs and professor of history. He holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. Members of the University community and guests of the honorees are invited to attend the reception, which will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. in the University Center’s Carter Hall.
