Annual alumni picnic set for June 8
|
A picnic menu, clowns, a magician, and a petting zoo will be among the activities planned for the annual USI Alumni Picnic from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 in the University Center mall. The event is sponsored by the USI Alumni Association. “The emphasis is on family,” said Nancy Johnson, director of Alumni and Volunteer Services. “We’ll have children’s games, a play house, and a petting zoo.” USI alumni Gerald Montgomery ’83 and Kirk Knight ’93 bring in large charcoal/wood grills to prepare the barbecue chicken, Italian sausages, and hot dogs for the picnic. These “grillmeisters” have been assisting with the picnic since 1996. Tables can be reserved for special groups such as fraternities, sororities, schools, athletic teams, etc. Call 812/464-1924 to reserve a table for a group. Picnic admission is $4 per person. Children (12 and under) are free. Reservations should be in the Alumni Office by June 3. |
