Regional forum focusing on tool and die industry’s needs
|
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Southwestern Indiana Regional Development Commission and several regional partners in economic development and education - including University of Southern Indiana, Ivy Tech State College in Evansville, the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp., and Evansville Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce - are concerned about the effects of foreign trade on tool, die, mold, and other related industries in this region. The commission’s project team has organized a free regional forum Thursday, July 24, from 7 to 9 a.m. at Ivy Tech to address this issue. A survey sponsored by the regional partners and the commission will be conducted to identify future training needs of these industries and how these companies are faring in the competitive global marketplace. State and federal assistance programs also will be part of the forum’s focus. Reservations for the free forum may be made by calling 812/465-7067 or faxing 812/465-7061. The Southwestern Indiana Regional Development Commission was formed to give the four counties in southwestern Indiana (Gibson, Posey, Warrick, and Vanderburgh) a chance to speak with one voice on initiatives that can have a lasting, positive impact for the future. The Commission is an affiliate of USI. |
