School-age students can polish study skills
|
You’ve purchased the supplies and clothes, but is your child really ready to go back to school? University of Southern Indiana is offering a series of classes designed to help young people catch the back-to-school spirit: STUDY SKILLS FOR SCHOOL SUCCESS (Grades 5-11) Get ready for a great school year by learning skills that will help increase your creativity and answer the age-old question: "Just what do teachers want?" Improve organizational and study skills, and learn note-taking and outlining techniques, use of reference materials, how to study for tests, and tips for writing reports. Explore learning styles, enhance creativity, increase study skills, and lay the groundwork for increasingly independent decision-making. Parents are encouraged to attend pre- and post-instructor/parent sessions. The pre-session will discuss individual children’s needs. The post-session will offer helpful suggestions for students to further develop their learning styles.
