Gay and lesbian issues to be discussed

“Give it to Me Straight: A Spectrum of Perspectives on Gay and Lesbian Issues” Spectrum USI will be hosting the “Give it to Me Straight” panel discussion Wednesday, October 8 at 7 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium in the Health Professions Center at University of Southern Indiana. The panel will consist of six members from a variety of backgrounds and viewpoints. Maggie Felton, a USI instructor in psychology, will speak from a research prospective. Glenda Guess, a mother of a gay son and a member of Parent, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), will speak about her experience of having a child who is gay. Other panel members are: Andrew Essary, a USI student and son of a gay parent; Kyle Burson, gay student at USI; Ann Hanat, lecturer in Liberal Arts, a lesbian; and Kimron Reising, a pastor at St. Mark United Church of Christ, who will add a religious viewpoint. There will be a question/answer session during the discussion, and there also will be refreshments served at the conclusion. For additional information e-mail Spectrum USI at spectrum@usieagles.org.
