USI Madrigal Feaste opens holiday season
|
The University of Southern Indiana Madrigal Ensemble will present the 34th annual Madrigal Feaste Thursday through Sunday, December 4 - 7. The feast, a reenactment of a fifteenth century royal celebration, offers music with each item on the menu. Daniel Craig, director of USI choral activities, said “This is USI’s oldest musical tradition and a festive way to begin the holiday season.” The USI Chamber Choir will entertain with selections of old English and Italian madrigals, folk songs, as well as choral selections for the holiday season. To enhance the experience USI Chamber Choir members will don Renaissance-period costumes and Carter Hall in the University Center will be transformed to an age when royalty welcomed their subjects to an estate or castle for an evening of holiday celebration.
