Religious Awareness Month November 15-December 15

University of Southern Indiana will celebrate Religious Awareness Month November 15-December 15 with a variety of special events and activities on campus. A part of THREADS, USI’s first campus-wide diversity series, Religious Awareness Month will highlight four religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. A schedule follows: November 15 - Gospel Explosion, 6 p.m., USI, Wright Administration Building, Forum I. Sponsor: Designed by Grace, USI’s gospel choir. Free and open to the public. November 17 - The Basics of Buddhism, featuring Mary MacGregor, Buddhist teacher, noon to 1 p.m., USI, University Center, Carter Hall. Sponsors: Religious Life, and International Programs and Services. The event also is part of International Education Week. Free and open to the public. November 22 - Gospel Café, 4 p.m., USI, University Center, Eagle's Nest. Sponsor: Religious Life. Free and open to the public. December 1 - The Basics of Islam, featuring Dr. Mohammad Hussain of the Islamic Center of Evansville, noon to 1 p.m., USI, University Center, rooms 201-202. Sponsor: Religious Life. Free and open to the public. December 3 - Holidays and Holy Days, reception featuring a variety of foods from Buddhist, Islamic, Jewish, and Christian feast days, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., USI, University Center, rooms 201-202. Sponsors: Multicultural Center, Religious Life, and International Programs and Services. Free and open to the public. December 8 - Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass, noon, USI, University Center, Carter Hall. Sponsor: Catholic Newman Center. Free and open to the public. |
