USI earns beautiful business award

University of Southern Indiana received Operation City Beautiful’s 2003 Beautiful Business Award sponsored by the Evansville Courier and Press. The award citation notes: “USI’s concern and enthusiasm for landscape maintenance is a shining example in the Evansville business community.” The 2003 recognition marks the second time USI has been selected for the award from a strong field of competition county-wide. The University grounds staff works diligently to bring color and beauty to the campus year round. Student groups and individual employees who annually plant and maintain “adopt-a-spots” also can take pride in this recognition. Operation City Beautiful is a private not-for-profit community beautification organization. Its mission is to motivate and educate the community through litter prevention, recycling, and beautification programs benefiting the greater Evansville area both economically and environmentally. |
