Educator and author to offer leadership training at USI

Leadership trainer Nancy Hunter Denney will conduct a leadership training conference for USI students on Saturday, January 24 on campus beginning at 12:30 p.m. The conference will be The Voice of the Charismatic Leader, the topic of a book chapter written by Denney in the book Let Your Leadership Speak: How to Lead and Be Heard. A former subscriber to everyone else's definition of "having it all," Denney resigned from her administrative duties in higher education in 1993 to begin her own business, raise her own children, and live life according to her own priorities. She is author of Life by Design: A Do-It-Yourself Approach for Achieving Happiness. Denney has appeared on ABC and NBC morning shows in Chicago and on numerous radio stations across the country promoting her inspiring messages on life and leadership. She is a frequent keynote speaker at national, regional, and state conferences in higher education and other non-profit organizations, as well as, a highly regarded leadership consultant to organizations devoted to making a difference. Denney earned her master’s degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and graduated magna cum laude from Oswego State University in New York. Prior to becoming a professional speaker, she served 10 years in higher education student affairs administration. The leadership conference at USI will be held in Carter Hall of the University Center. Registration is limited to 150 students.
