Housing renewals begin this week

Current students in Residence Life can renew housing contracts for the 2004-05 academic year during the week of February 9 to 13, 2004 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fair Residence Life Center. The contract renewal is an easy three step process for students. • Arrive at the Fair Residence Life Center with your Eagle Access card (University ID). • Obtain a 2004-05 Residence Life/Food Service contract booklet and complete the enclosed contract form. • Work with a housing professional to choose your housing option. The following is the renewal schedule for students. “It’s important for students to read the schedule closely and come in on the appropriate day,” said Julie Payne, director of housing. Monday, February 9 – If you want to keep your same housing, this is the day for you! Come to the Residence Life Center and renew for your current room location today. Residence hall students and non-Greek students in Lane, Morton, Williams and Gray – see the information for Tuesday, February 10 for your renewal instructions. Tuesday, February 10 – Residents in Newman, Governors or O’Bannon halls, as well as non-Greek residents in Lane, Morton, Williams and Gray will be required to move out of current locations and into the on-campus apartments for the next year. You may sign up for any location in McDonald East, McDonald West, O’Daniel South or O’Daniel North. Wednesday, February 11 – any resident wishing to move TO the O’Daniel North, O’Daniel South or Golden Tower area may renew the housing contract today. Students wishing to move to Golden Tower MUST be 21 years of age by August 30, 2004. Thursday, February 12 – any resident wishing to move TO the McDonald East, McDonald West or Golden Tower area may renew the housing contract today. Students wishing to move to Golden Tower MUST be 21 years of age by August 30, 2004. Friday, February 13 – any currently enrolled USI student (including residents) may sign up for any apartment on campus. Golden Tower age restrictions still apply. “The renewal period offers an opportunity for current students to get housing ahead of new students coming to campus,” Payne said. She added, “Bring your Eagle Access card and get your housing locked in for the next academic year." |
