USI to meet UE in baseball

The USI Screaming Eagles will meet the University of Evansville Purple Aces for the first time since 1988 in a baseball game at 6 p.m. on March 18 at Braun Stadium, the home field of the Aces. The game is billed as Battle at the Braun. Seniors for the USI team are Adam Stone, second base; Adam Anderson, outfield; Toby Pritchard, first baseman; Mike Kottmeyer, catcher/pitcher; Nathan Esche, pitcher; and Drew Neel, pitcher. The USI Student Government Association is offering a free t-shirt and rally rag to the first 600 students. All tickets are $5 and some of the proceeds will benefit the Tri-State Hot Stove League, which supports youth sports and organizations in Evansville and the tri-state area. A hospitality area for students will be open from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the stadium. USI students will show a valid Eagle Access card for access to the hospitality area. Game tickets can be purchased at the USI ticket office in the Physical Activities Center (PAC), phone 465-7165 or from the Student Government Association office in the University Center, phone 464-1873. |
