Seventeen high schools to compete in foreign language academic bowl

The University of Southern Indiana Foreign Language Department is sponsoring a foreign language academic bowl beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7 in Carter Hall of the University Center. Seventeen high school teams from Evansville and surrounding counties will participate in academic competition in the areas of French, German, Latin, and Spanish. Following the language rounds, the teams will compete in songs. Song presentations will be judged in the categories of pronunciation, cultural content, and originality or creativity of the presentation. Each group will be composed of at least four and no more than eight students and they will have no recorded accompaniment. Each presentation will last no more than three minutes. The song competition is expected to start about 11:15 a.m. |
